3 plans for the segments of tenants, landlords and high-income group with premium properties
Insurer sees positive growth of general insurance in 2012
Hong Kong, December 14, 2011
Zurich announced today (14 December) a series of home insurance plans to cater for the different requirements of the tenants, landlords and the high-income group with premium properties respectively. At today's luncheon, Zurich also gave an overview of the Group's general insurance development in 2012 and expressed positive note to Hong Kong's general insurance market next year.
Allan Yu, Director of General Business at Zurich Insurance Group (Hong Kong) said, "With enhanced living standards and changes in people's lifestyle, demand for home insurance products have increased and protection needs have evolved to be more diversified and unique. In response to this, Zurich launches the home insurance solution series with the introduction of three plans, namely HomeCare Householder Insurance Plan, LandlordCare Insurance Plan and Splendor Deluxe Property & Home Insurance Plan, respectively catering for the various segments of tenants, landlords and the high-income group with premium properties. First-to-the-market features and more competitive coverage are specially introduced to the new series of home insurance solution, aiming at providing comprehensive protection to Zurich's customers."
Zurich's home insurance plans offer greater sum insured under certain coverage items, as well as more extensive and innovative coverage when compared with similar products in the market.
Zurich has introduced a number of brand new coverage to cope with the changes in people's lifestyle. For example, HomeCare Householder Insurance Plan provides first-to-the-market feng shui consultation following damage to home, as well as free extension of domestic helper's liability while working for the insured and the insured's family. Also, both HomeCare Householder Insurance Plan and Splendor Deluxe Property & Home Insurance Plan include pets' alternative accommodation benefits for the insured's dogs/cats if the insured's home is made uninhabitable, which is not covered by most other similar insurance plans.
In addition, Zurich's home insurance plans offer advantages in the sum insured. LandlordCare Insurance Plan offers owners' liability cover of up to HK$10,000,000 for the accident in the public area of the building where the leased property is located. The insured can also get the protection coverage on loss of rent. All these coverage with greater protection gives landlords extra peace of mind.
On the other hand, those insured under Splendor Deluxe Property & Home Insurance Plan are freed from the hassle of declaring every single item of their valuable properties, of which the per item maximum protection can be up to HK$50,000, which is comparatively higher than what most general home insurance plans offers. Moreover, the maximum protection under Splendor is on the basis of each valuable item or each incident; whereas this is calculated on an annual basis under most other general home insurance plans. These are meant to provide better protection for Zurich customers' valuable properties.
Zurich endeavors to offer thorough protection plans to customers. The new home insurance plans cover extensive legal liability, including owner's, tenant's, occupier's, pet owner's and their personal legal liability. The plans also provide 24-hour home emergency assistance, ensuring a comprehensive and around-the-clock protection to customers.
In support of green living, Zurich's new home insurance solution series extends up to 10% of the value of a new replacement of the damaged or lost energy efficient product with "Energy Efficiency Label".
At today's luncheon, Mr. Allan Yu of Zurich pointed to a steady growth of the general insurance market in 2012, which is partly blessed by the public's greater awareness of the protection concept after repeated occurrence of natural disasters and the government's proposed Voluntary Health Protection Scheme. The Group's general insurance products for travel, accident & health, medical and home insurance are expected to register a double-digit growth for their innovative and unique features.
From now till 31 January, 2012, customers are entitled to a 15% premium discount on any of the three plans under Zurich's home insurance solution series. For more details about the insurance plans, please contact Zurich's insurance brokers or agents, or call Customer Service Hotline on 2903-9300.
