Background:
Mr. Lam wanted to ensure that his active sons is well protected in case of unexpected accidents. He bought Breezy Care to safeguard against unforeseeable accidental medical expenses and provide extra support if his child is injured.

Incident:
During a school football game, Mr. Lam’s two sons suffered from a broken arm. Recovery involves hospitalization, out-patient treatments and ongoing physiotherapy.

Outcome: 
With Breezy Care, the medical bills of his sons were covered, including hospitalization and follow-up outpatient visit expenses. Mr. Lam also received daily cash allowances. Breezy Care provides an extra hospital cash allowance for staying in a public hospital in the first 14 days of admission for accidents during school activities. Yes, coverage applies worldwide. In addition, if an accident happens outside Hong Kong during a trip of up to 90 days, Zurich Emergency Assistance offers a range of services, including emergency medical evacuation, a hospital admission guarantee and 24-hour telephone hotline and referral services.
If the insured suffers temporary total disability (TTD) due to an accident, the policy pays a weekly income benefit after a waiting period, up to a maximum benefit period, subject to occupation class and proof of income.
To file a claim, you need to provide relevant documents according to the types of claims, such as medical receipt, diagnosis certificate, and any other documentation specified in your policy. Detailed instructions on the claims process are available on our website and in your policy documents.

1A member of the family covered under the policy, who, at the time of an accident, is:

  • aged between 18 to 70; and
  • works for full-time employment to earn money for the family; and
  • the primary source of support for the family dependents living in the same household; and
  • contributed substantially of his/her earnings to the expenditure of the family.

4For Family and Extended Family Plans, the no-claim discount is based on the entire policy. If no family member makes a claim during the policy period, your family will be eligible for a discount on renewal.

*To be eligible for this plan, you must include at least one child.

This policy does not cover death, disablement, injury or loss directly or indirectly caused by, resulting from or in connection with any of the following:

  1. The time when the insured person is engaging in duty for Occupation Class 3 or above or any occupation principally involving the use of light machinery or engines and any extra hazardous occupations involving the use of heavy machinery, requiring high degree of physical exertion or working in an extra hazardous working environment, including but not limited to entertainers, newspaper-war correspondents, truck drivers, China-Hong Kong cross border drivers, jockeys, detectives and caisson workers, disciplinary forces, or armed forces of any country or international authority;
  2. Any pre-existing conditions;
  3. Any kind of disease or sickness; or any loss caused by an injury which is a consequence of any kind of disease, except Section 4(f) - Allowance to the elderly on accidental injury caused by specified illness as listed: Cataract, Dementia, Glaucoma, Osteoporosis, Parkinson's Disease (aged 71 or above only)
  4. Any cosmetic surgery, procurement or use of special braces, appliances or equipment of any kind of disease;
  5. The insured person’s participation in any illegal or unlawful acts;
  6. Riding or driving in any kind of motor racing, or engaging in sport in a professional capacity or where the insured person would or could earn income or remuneration from engaging in such sport;
  7. Air travel other than as a passenger on a regular scheduled airline or licensed chartered aircraft;
  8. Suicide, attempted suicide or intentional self-injury, insanity, mental disorder of any kind, psychosis, stress or depression, any condition under the influence of alcohol or drugs (other than those prescribed by a qualified medical practitioner), childbirth, pregnancy, miscarriage or Acute Mountain Sickness;
  9. War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, or military or usurped power, or direct participation in strike, riot or civil commotion;
  10. Any injury, illness, death, loss, expense or other liability attributable to HIV (Human Immune Deficiency Virus) and/or HIV-related illness including AIDS and/or any mutant derivative or variations thereof however caused or however named;
  11. Any expenses, consequential loss, legal liability or loss of or damage to any property directly or indirectly arising from:
    (i) lonising radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel; or
    (ii) the radioactive, toxic, explosive or other hazardous properties of any nuclear assembly or nuclear component.
  1. “2025 Personal Accident Insurance Premium Discount Promotion” (“Promotion”) is provided by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (a company incorporated in Switzerland with limited liability) (“Zurich”).
  2. This Promotion is only applicable to selected Insurance Plan: Breezy Care Personal Accident Insurance Plan.
