Zurich Hong Kong strengthens leadership in travel insurance with AIG personal travel business acquisition
Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong) ("Zurich Hong Kong") is pleased to announce the successful completion of integrating AIG’s Hong Kong personal travel insurance portfolio, following Zurich Insurance Group (“Zurich”)’s global acquisition announcement in December 2024. This milestone marks the successful integration of AIG’s travel insurance and assistance business Travel Guard into Zurich Hong Kong, reinforcing the company’s commitment to deliver innovative and comprehensive protection for customers.
Travel Guard has been combined with the Zurich-owned travel insurance provider Cover-More Group and operates under the new corporate brand “Zurich Cover-More”. With this acquisition, Zurich Hong Kong’s travel portfolio is significantly expanded, giving its customers access to an expanded range of travel products through Zurich Hong Kong’s digital platforms and travel agencies. The integration of Travel Guard’s renowned 24/7 multilingual support and its global supplier network means swifter claims response, seamless digital service, and robust emergency assistance.
Zurich Hong Kong has long held a leading position in the market for travel insurance. The completion of this acquisition further solidifies its commitment to the Hong Kong market in delivering best-in-class travel protection and service to its customers.
